LICENSED MIDWIFE

Mackenzie Thomas LM, CPM

From a very young age, I have had this deep love and nurturing heart for babies and knew that whatever career I choose in the future, it would involve them. As I grew up surrounded by a mother who is a nurse and other family members in the medical field, I always assumed working on an L&D floor at a hospital was the only route for me to take, though I have always felt that the hospital falls short of my desires to be a part of the entire process of pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum. That was until my junior year in high school when I was first introduced to a midwife and immediately I knew I wanted to become a midwife.

My journey of becoming a midwife began in August of 2019 when I moved to Kona, Hawaii and attended my very first beginner midwifery school. I was there for 5 months and came back to Texas. Quickly after returning to Texas, I realized I would need to transfer schools. I then enrolled in the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program in June 2020.

After completing my apprenticeship with Joyful Beginnings in 2023, I finally joined the team as a Licensed Midwife!
