Marsha Chovanec LM, CPM
Marsha Chovanec is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) licensed by the state of Texas (LM).
Raised in a small town in South Texas, Marsha was introduced to the world of natural birth at a young age. In an area without access to natural providers and a mother who advocated for holistic wellness, the idea of trusting the birth process and the power of the feminine design were concepts that came naturally. As a teenager, Marsha discovered the world of midwifery and out-of-hospital birth and began pursuing it as her future career. In 2017 she attended her first home birth with a midwife in the Houston area. Awed by the power of the female body, she soon applied for midwifery school and began searching for a clinical apprenticeship. In 2018 she found Joyful Beginnings and began the three year journey of clinical training.
Nearly 100 births later, she finished training and went home to work on the process of licensure. Since then, she has been working as a birth assistant in the Corpus Christi area, and has taken on a few primary clients of her own.
In 2021, Marsha agreed to re-join Joyful Beginnings Birth Care, this time as a Licensed Midwife!
